Spirra. Koreans have made the first Super Car!
In 2001 small South Korean company Proto Motors has presented a prototype of future sport car PS II which promised to start in a batch production in the nearest year-two. But it does not happen. Required the whole nine years to finish super car, received name Spirra.
Because working out on car has actually begun in the last century, it is difficult to name design Spirra modern. If not to pay attention on middle motor configuration it is possible to accept Spirra for a usual Japanese sport coupe the beginning of the century. However, it is necessary to recognise nevertheless that Japanese cars of ten years' prescription had nevertheless more expressive design. As to technical characteristics here again Koreans have not thought up anything original. A spatial frame with body panels from carbon and 2,7-litre six-cylinder engine Hyundai established before a rear axle capacity of 175 h.p. and 245 Nm. An indicator worthy any "warmed-up" hatchback of a golf class. But it is the base version. There are versions more powerful, and all of them are equipped with the same motor Hyundai.
The version a class above already carries name Spirra Turbo and has turbo motor capacity of 330 h.p. (471 Nm). But also in such kind to name Spirra super car very difficult. Koreans perfectly understand it and consequently two more versions have offered all with the same 2,7-litre motor which, develops 400-420 h.p. (490 Nm), and the top version with two turbines already gives out quite decent 450-500 h.p. (539 Nm). All versions are equipped with a six-step manual transmission.
Depending on version first hundred conquest leaves from 6,8 sec to 3,5 sec, and the maximum speed makes from 212 to 310 km/h. Also depending on the version the car has 18 or 19-inch wheel disks with rubber Kumho dimension 225/40 in front and 275/40 behind. The Passenger compartment is finished by a skin, inserts from carbon and can brag of sports "ladles" Recaro. The price of the first Korean a super car while is unknown, as well as commodity markets. It is quite probable that Spirra will not appear outside of Korea.
