The Airflow by Pierre Sabas of France has wheel-mounted electric motors and is made entirely of glass. "I’ve tried to wrap it around like fabric. It allows for a new driving sensation and it gives the occupants a new perception of the outside world," he says. The car won the Best Design Interpretation Award at the Pilkington Automotive Vehicle Design Awards.

Yun Woo Jeong's "Transform" might be the offspring of an unholy marriage between Optimus Prime and a Morgan. It has a transparent elastic top that can be stretched to any shape to suit the driver's needs and mood. "I've been interested in 'transformables' since I was a boy," says Jeong. "It is common to boys across the world. How many transformable robots have passed over our memories? Why do they generate so much enthusiasm? Some say it's childish. But I assume it is human instinct."

Raquel Aparicio Lopez's "Soft Vehicle" is made of foam. You stash your stuff in a boot, er, trunk that opens with a zipper and you climb in through "a sensual slit" and sit in a seat surrounded by impact absorbing "jelly balls." The Spanish designer believes softer cars are safer cars. "I would like to extrapolate rubber, textile and other soft materials into vehicle design," she says.

Sergio Loureiro Da Silva designed "Phoenix" for maximum efficiency. There's a turbine up front, a kinetic axis -- whatever that is -- and electric motors at the back. The Spanish designer likens the vehicle to a motorcycle with a sidecar, but it looks to us like something you'd see in a pod race on Tattooine.

Paul Howse wanted to offer a new definition of luxury and exclusivity with "Enigma." It's an electric vehicle that ideally would get its power from the sun, and the passenger compartment uses magnetic levitation to isolate it from the rest of the car.

Joonas Vartola's "Iomega" isn't so much a car as a "relaxation capsule" with a chauffeur. Vartola says the shape of a swan inspired the exterior. Driver and passengers sit in separate compartments, which "fosters the idea of this being a passenger car rather than the usual driver's car architecture," the Finnish designer says.

"I'm thinking about a new way of consuming cars," says Italian designer Ilaria Sacco, by allowing a high level of personalization. She calls the car "My Lounge," and it takes an Ikea approach to design by allowing buyers to pick everything that goes into it, "like how you would design your living room." Dong Kyu Kim of South Korea was influenced by fashion design, and "Chameleon" takes its styling cues from shirt collars, blowing scarves and women's eyeliner. The car is asymmetrical because, "like a good dress, it will never be perfect," and paramagnetic technology allows it to change colors so it'll always match your outfit.

None of the technology Spanish designer Arturo Peralta Nogueras has planned for his vehicle exists yet, but if you're gonna dream, dream big. "Senses" runs on algae and features an exterior made of "solid hologram technology," whatever that is. It's also got artificial intelligence, and the interior "evolves and adapts to its environment, passengers and scenarios," though we're not sure how. No matter. It sure looks cool.

Jon Radbrink of Sweden also has a thing for glass. He used a whole lot of it on "Lexus Nuaero," his gas-electric hybrid. "I was inspired by architecture and used glass in conjunction with other materials to create a layered effect that gives the feeling of transparency for the occupants," he says. The Pilkington judges liked it enough to give it the Best Use of Glazing -- that means glass -- award.

Called the Lexus Nuaero, it features motors in the wheels and a touch-screen dashboard where the information and controls can be moved around.

Seems that Galpin Auto Sports of Van Nuys took a Ford Mustang GT convertible and went COMPLETELY NUTS on it. Sure, it started out as a 2008 Mustang GT, but it is completely unrecognizable now! Hand made composite body, voice command controled, even DUAL retractible steering wheels (left and right side drive, thanks to drive-by-wire technology)!!!

In the deep, 3 layer, candy purple paint, it looks like something the Joker might drive… if he could handle the 1000 horsepower twin supercharged power!

Of course, it sits so low to ground here, at a height that it would be impractical on most any road or track, but thanks to air ride technologies’ suspension system, the computer constantly gauges the road for the optimum ride height and firmness of the ride itself. and still, it “cuts” quite a shape… and those headlights!

Still, Galpin Auto Sports was aiming for a vehicle straight from the car shows of the 60’s (Autorama) that sparked people’s imagination and excitement. Given that this vehicle is COMPLETELY road worthy and driveable and not just some clay work with paint and chrome stuck on it… I’d say they goal has been FAR exceeded!

Sensasional Dari Venom.. Venom rupanya terus berinovasi menghadirkan mobil dengan modifikasi ekstrim untuk dijadikan mobil demo-nya. Kali ini mobil yang berhasil dieksekusi adalah Nissan Cefiro lansiran 1995 yang diubah bentuk menjadi Lamborghini Reventon.

Aplikasi Motorized dan Air Suspension

Dengan menunjuk rumah modifikasi Rosella yang bermukim di kawasan Pluit, bentuk bodi total dibentuk ulang menggunakan bahan plat 1,8 mm yang berkiblat pada desain body mobil Lamborghini Reventon. Alhasil mobil sedan yang tadinya memiliki 4 pintu ini berhasil di ubah menjadi sedan sport 2 pintu.

Mengambil konsep modifikasi mobil sport futuristik, pintu mobil dibuat model gullwing dengan menggunakan sistem buka tutup custom motorized, begitu juga dengan kap bagasi bagian buritan. Akan tetapi tidak cukup sampai hanya pada aplikasi motorized, sistem suspensi dari Cefiro berkelir ungu ini juga mengaplikasikan custom air suspension 4 titik. Memperkuat image mobil sport, pelek mobil ini menggunakan pelek racing berukuran 19 inci lansiran PIAA dengan dibalut ban berprofil tipis.

Kaca Akrilik Custom

Akibat perubahan bodi yang ada, seluruh kaca mobil pun mengaplikasikan bahan akrilik yang kemudian dilapisi kaca film gelap. Untuk kaca depan menggunakan akrilik bening dengan ketebalan 8 mm, sedangkan kaca samping untuk kaca samping kanan dan kiri menggunakan akrilik dengan ketebalan 6 mm.

Dikodratkan sebagai mobil demo Venom, sistem car audio langsung dijejali instalasi custom racikan Halim yang biasa disapa ko Ahau, instalatur dari workshop Some Sound. Seluruhnya audio sistem menggunakan produk Venom yang dibuat dengan apik dan sesuai dengan konsep modifikasi futuristik yang diusung. Head Unit langsung mengandalkan Clarion VXZ 766DVD.

Speaker depan mengandalkan 2 set speaker split Venom VI6 dengan placement midbass diposisikan pada doortrim dan tweeter pada dasbor serta pilar. Placement yang sedikit 'nyleneh' terlihat pada tengah dasbor terpasang 1 unit Subwoofer Venom VX3110W dengan posisi reverse. Bukan cuma itu, pada jok yang dibuat custom juga dipasangkan speaker coaxial yang juga lansiran Venom, begitu juga dibelakang jok dipasangkan 6 unit subwoofer Venom VX2003W yang semuanya telah di-drive 4 unit monoblock Venom VI.2000.1D.

Meski sebagai mobil demo car audio, instalasi dari sistem audionya terbilang tidak berlebihan. Kabin mobil dengan ruang yang terbatas pun masih dapat disinggahi dengan cukup nyaman. Pada body mobil terlihat tidak ada speaker yang terpasang, yang ada hanya 2 unit subwoofer 8 inci yang teraplikasikan di bumper depan yang juga di-drive monoblock Venom VI.2000.1D, selain itu 4 unit monitor 7” juga terpasang pada bumper belakang dengan ditutupi akrilik, sehingga tetap membuat mobil ini tampil original layaknya Lamborghini Reventon versi aslinya.

“Untuk modifikasi sektor dapur pacunya, mobil ini sedang dalam proses pengerjaaan dibengkel dan rencananya akan mengaplikasikan mesin kepunyaan Nissan Silvia RB20, aku sang instalatur.”

Seandainya mobil ini dapat terbang sungguhan, mungkin akan jauh lebih menarik. Tetapi desain yang ditawarkan juga cukup menggoda. Saya yakin bangsa Indonesia juga mampu membuat inovasi seperti ini, bahkan yang jauh lebih baik dari ini.

Masboy memberikan clue salah satu referensi modifikasi Honda win yang mungkin berkenan adalah Honda Solo. Honda Solo bukan lah sebuah nama deler di solo, melainkan sebuah varian Motor Laki semi otomatis honda berkapasitas mesin 50 cc. Motor yang sudah di diskontinu produksi oleh Honda jepan ini dibuat bukan bertujuan untuk gaya-gayaan walaupun style nya yang retro menunjang untuk diajak mejeng. kenapa? Mesinnya yang cuma 50 cc cuma snggup menghasilkan daya 3,5 ps saja di RPM 7500

Torsinya gimana? cukuplah 0,39 kg-m/6000rpm motor ekonomis ini menurut beberapa testimoni sanggup digeber sampai 90-an Km/jam. Motor imut ini hanya dibekali 3 tingkatan percepatan semi otomatis dan Rotari mirip motor-motor bebek. Motor ini di bangun tanpa menggunakan cover body pelastik, semua rangka terlihat membuat motor ini tambah eksotik, minimal menurutsaya. IMHO Sok depan teleskopik, ukurannya mirip dengan sok standar Honda Win, Sok belakangnya yang hampir terlentang mirip desain Sok kawasaki ER6 he he he he, Single seater membuatnya sebagai motor yang angkuh ( nggak mau boncengin orang ). Mesin 4Tak celentang 49 cc lahyang memperkuat alasan mengapa motor ini menjadi referensi modif buat Honda Win, Honda S90 dan motor-motor lainnya yang masih menganut blok silinder ‘celentang’.
